I. Round Start Up

Round Start Up and Single Player Information and Rules

1. All players start the round maxed until the first gameclock hour change. Note: sometimes players are able to be attacked at round start — we do not issue compensation for being attacked.
2. ALL new players are under the protection program for 24 hours ONLY. See the Game Guide for more details.
3. All players start with $500 Million Cash and 10,000 AK's, 10,000 Hitmen, 10,000 Hustlers, 10 Chryslers, 10 Gulfstream Jets, and 5,000 Reserve Turns.
4. All Free / Non-Subscription players start with 2,500 Active Turns.

II. Families and Unions

Family Game Play: Information, Prizes and Rules

1. Maximum Family Size in the main round is limited to 20 players unless stipulated otherwise in the round-specific rules by Admin.
2. See current round rules regarding time frame to join or leave a family.
3. See current round rules regarding whether the BOSS can remove a player from the family. When the boss removes you, you lose ALL assets, but will have 1 AK per defensive unit.
4. Single Families have their own prize category and the top families win the turns prizes only. Each member will receive turns prizes as shown on the Prizes page in the game.
5. Families must have 5 players or more to qualify for Collecting Family Prizes.
6. Collecting Family Prizes is based on the Total Cash Networth of the Family Bank.
7. Families can win 1 place each prize per level 1–4 rankings and one place each prize per level 1–4 for killer ranks.
8. Family banks are available based on user deposits from their personal bank to the Family bank. See current round rules for bank % maximum — no turns fee for deposits.
9. Players may TRANSFER cash to each other, only if rules apply.
10. No deposit fees.

Union Game Play: Information, Prizes and Rules

1. You can create or join a Union within 96 hours from round startup, with no limits to the number of families allowed in the union.
2. If the Family Boss does not create or join a Union within 96 hours from round start, you stay as a Single Family for the rest of the round.
3. NO LEAVING UNIONS once you join.
4. Unions have their own prize category and the top 5 Unions win the turns prizes only. 30 selected members will receive turns prizes as shown on the Prizes page in the game.
5. 30 players per union must be nominated by the Union Don before round end — on the "Union Prize List" link on the Union Options page.
6. Union must have 30 or more members to qualify for union prizes.
7. Union banks are available based on user deposits from their personal bank to the Union bank. See current round rules for bank % maximum.
8. No deposit fees / turns charge.
9. Union prizes are based on Union Cash deposits in Union Bank value and Notoriety Value of a Union Member.
10. Can TRANSFER Cash to each other within the union only. No transfers are possible / allowed outside of the Union.
11. Unions can only win 2 prizes per level 1–4 rankings and killer ranks.

** Notoriety Value of a Union Member:
— Players playing under 3 months add $15 Billion each to Union Bank
— Players playing more than 3 months add $5 Billion each to Union Bank

Union Prizes

1. Top 3 Unions ONLY get a prize at Main Round End.
2. Union winners are 30 players selected by the Union Don, in the Union Options page before round end.

III. Game Cash, Transfers, Banks and Banking

Transferring of Cash and Assets

1. Transfers in Main Rounds: See Current Round Rules.
2. If you make and lose an attack against another player NO CASH IS TRANSFERRED to them. (No boosting.)
3. TURBO ROUNDS may feature transfers on or off as stipulated in the rules for specific Turbo Rounds.
4. Cannot sell guns in excess of defensive units (defensives are armed at all times).

Banks and Banking

1. There are 2 places you can store cash: Personal Safebox, and Family Bank.

IV. Attacking, Killing and Maxing

Kill Counts Calculations

Kill points (KPs) in The Mafia Boss are earned by making any attacks to any player and killing a Defender's Defensive Units (DUs). Kill points are awarded based on target strength and weapons used.

1. Order of killing — Unarmed defenders are killed first. Then: Weakest to strongest armed DU and gun type.
2. Losing attacks will earn kill points for both Defenders and Attackers if DUs are lost during the attack.
3. The Attacker can win kill points until the Defender is maxed or zeroed, whichever comes first.
4. The Defender may also win kill points for any Attacker DU killed during the attack.

Revenge Attacks

1. Revenges through drive-bys for 24 hours.
2. If the player is unmaxed and out of range, you can revenge by drive-by only.
3. KPs are awarded from Revenge attacks.
4. If YOUR Operatives were attacked, you have Revenge on that player's Business/Operatives, for 24 hours revenge duration and every time you have a revenge on them you will be able to also revenge their ops [even if they are maxed] at 5% per hour. [for the entire round]

Maxing

1. Maxing is calculated at a % of networth lost per hour in the Main Round, and can vary from round to round — check the Main Menu News always for round rules variation updates.
2. Maxing % varies in Turbo Rounds.
3. Business maxing is set at 5% of the total number of operatives the opponent has, per hour. If you get 4.9% damage in the first attack, a second attack will be possible making the same damage if you had the same type and number of DUs.

V. Levels and Rankings, The Jackpot and Credits and Turns

1. Level 1: 0 – 999 won or purchased credits added.
2. Level 2: 1,000 – 24,999 won or purchased credits added, and/or purchase of Titanium subscription.
3. Level 3: 25,000 – 99,999 won or purchased credits added, and/or purchase of Titanium Black subscription.
4. Level 4: Anything beyond 100,000 won or purchased credits added, and/or purchase of a Diamond subscription.
5. Bonus Reserves do not adjust Player Level.

• Jackpot Payout Amount will be stipulated on the MAIN MENU PAGE at the start of each round and will vary at the discretion of The Mafia Boss Management.
• All Level 4 Jackpot prizes are non-transferable and payable only to the username account of the Level 4 first place winner.
• The Jackpot Cash Payout Limit may be increased or decreased at the discretion of Game Management.

6. There are no discount offers on credits if the jackpot did not reach payout, and any special discount offers that are running in that round only apply if the Jackpot reaches the stipulated payout amount.
7. All WON and BOUGHT credits are not transferable between players.

VI. Game Conduct Rules

1. More than One Account

WARNING: It is strictly forbidden to have more than one account. If we find you breaking this rule, we will remove your account from the game. No one is exempt from this rule — free players and supporters will be treated the same.

2. Sharing a Computer or Device

DO NOT SHARE YOUR COMPUTER WITH ANOTHER PLAYER. Only one account per computer or device is allowed. We cannot determine who is cheating or sharing, so this is a very strict ruling. No one will be exempted from the game rules on this. BE CAREFUL when you login from public computers, as it may have an existing account and cause both accounts to be removed from the game. Do not use a friend's computer to check your account and do not allow any sign-in into friends' accounts from your devices. Sharing the SAME IP address is allowed BUT: where an IP is shared, the secondary / newer user cannot receive subs or credits bought by any other player — they must purchase this for themselves. We will not UNBAN any accounts caught contravening these rules.

3. Outside Programs and Glitches

Using an outside program, glitch, or any browser tricks (including plug-ins and auto refresh / load) to alter the effects of the game is considered cheating. If you are found abusing either one, your account may be frozen or removed. Please report any bugs or glitches you find in the game. If we find you are abusing them, we will have your account disabled.

4. Quitting / Restarting the Game

WE WILL NOT ALLOW PLAYERS TO CLOSE THEIR ACCOUNT TO START ANEW. We view this as a form of cheating: it would allow players to make a new account, attack someone, quit, then make a new account to attack the same person again. We will NOT CLOSE ACCOUNTS on user requests for them to make a new one. If you want to leave the game, just sign out — your account will not be visible to anyone the next round. Also do not post any info on your profile about giving away free game money, or post any adverts about leaving the game, as this could result in the removal of your account.

5. Spamming

We are really strict about spammers. Please do not post links to other MMORPG games on the net — it is out of respect to the programmers who work hard on this game. This includes posting links to sites that contain links to other games. Do not send messages to other players advertising for other games. Your Mafioso character can be banned pretty fast if you abuse this rule.

6. Posting

Do not post any attacks on the public boards or in public chat rooms — only share attacks with members of your family. Please do not spam, including sending mass messages to a player in order to flood their inbox or transfers. Do not put down the game or the staff. Do not give out the names or contact information of other players on the boards, including any personal information. Do not make racial comments in your posts. If you are creating drama towards the game, we will remove you.

7. Profanity / Racial Comments

If your player name or family name has any excessive profanity or racist comments in it, your name will be changed by admin. Mild adult language will be allowed in player names, but if we find your name to have excessive profanity (i.e. f*ck, c*nt), it will be removed. There is NO swearing ALLOWED on the Recruiting Board or Game Wide Chat. You can, however, swear in the Family and Business boards as they are not monitored and not public. Profiles or profile pics that get complaints will be dealt with accordingly.

8. Threatening Messages / Racial Comments

This is a Mafia based game and insults and threats are a part of that. However, sending messages that physically threaten another player or their livelihood will result in you being removed from the game. You are welcome to tell someone you are going to take out them and their whole family (game-wise). You are not allowed, for example, to tell someone you know where they live and/or are coming to get them, or to wish any physical harm or diseases on them or their family. This is a game and it's meant to be fun. Keep your threats within the game. Abusive messages will not be tolerated. Insulting someone's race, religion, mental / physical handicaps, or sexual orientation may result in your removal.

9. Game Names / Family Names

Excessive profanity, racial slurs, religious slurs, strong sexual content, or derogatory names against players or any of the groups named in Rule 8 are not allowed for game names or family names. If we come to believe your name implies any of the above, your name will be changed by admin. If your family name is one of these, admin will rename your family. If your player name has any type of swearing or variation of swearing in it, admin will change your name.

10. Nudity

Though this is an 18-and-over game, nudity is not allowed on profiles or family media. Strong sexual content is also not allowed. You will be given an opportunity to remove the offensive material, or it may be removed for you. If you refuse to replace it or continue to abuse this rule, you will be removed from the game.

11. Family

The size of families is restricted to a certain number of members depending on the round. You are free to have alliances or family extensions, but we are not responsible for that and do not provide any tools to handle them. Allied families and family extensions cannot use the same icon — each family needs to have a unique icon.

12. Bad Links and Hacking

Do not send links that can affect an account or computer to players within the game. Do not threaten that you are a hacker or will hack the game — doing so will cause your account to be banned. TheMafiaBoss will not be held responsible or make any corrections for any URLs or outside programs sent to you within the game (or outside the game) that may have effects on your account. If you receive a link to a website in-game, we strongly urge against pasting it into your browser.

13. Abusing Staff

The staff is here to answer your questions, fix your problems, and handle your complaints. They are the ones that keep the game running. They are volunteers and work hard. They also enforce the rules, which means that often they are not popular. If you have a problem with a staff member, report it to another staff member or to the Staff Manager or Supervisor. Sending the staff abusive messages or bashing them on the boards or your profile could result in your removal from the game. We cannot tolerate abuse to the staff. Staff are player volunteers who cannot see any of your personal account details — only administrators can see this and therefore are not allowed to play the game competitively. If you come to know the player identity of any staff member and use this on your profiles or the forums or blogs or game chat or any of The Mafia Boss Game social media, you can be frozen or banned from the game depending on the severity of the situation, at the discretion of the Game Administrators.

14. Common Sense

Just because a rule isn't listed here, doesn't make it right. Please think before you take action or make a comment. There are people playing this game from all parts of the world. What may seem like a joke to you could easily be very insulting to someone else. Removal from the game for ANY reason is a forfeiture of any game credits.
