What Is The Mafia Boss?
The Mafia Boss is a browser-based multiplayer mafia strategy game. You compete against real players worldwide across structured 10-day rounds. The goal: build the highest net worth and finish at the top of the rankings by the time the round closes.
It runs entirely in your browser — desktop or mobile. No Steam, no app store, no download. Create a free account, join the current round, and you're playing within minutes.
Play Free in Your Browser — No Download Required

No executable to run, no plugin to install, no app to approve. The Mafia Boss works on Windows, Mac, Linux, Chromebook — any device with a modern browser. It was built for the web and has stayed there since 2004.
The game is free to play. Creating an account costs nothing. The core gameplay — building your operations, attacking rivals, climbing the rankings — is fully accessible without spending. Optional in-game credits exist for players who want extra advantages, but they're not required to compete. Strategy and timing matter more than how much anyone spends.
How a Round Works
Each Main round runs approximately 10 days. A shorter Turbo round runs roughly 2 days. Both formats work the same way: every player starts with equal resources, the round runs to its end, and the rankings determine who won.
The core loop:
- Collect income from your criminal operations — the money flowing in from what you've built
- Attack rivals to take from them and protect what's yours
- Grow your net worth to climb the rankings
- Build and manage your family — the team that coordinates strategy with you
The resource that governs everything is Turns. Turns regenerate over time and control how many actions you can take in a session. Managing them well is part of the game.
When the round ends, rankings reset. The next round starts fresh. A player who joins today is on equal footing with someone who has been playing for years — every round is a new competition.
Choose Your Role
Killer
Combat specialist. Your focus is eliminating rivals and protecting your family's position. Control the board through aggression.
Collector
Operations builder. You generate income from your criminal enterprise and grow net worth through output, not combat.
Looter
Raider. You target players who've built up assets and take what they've accumulated — a high-risk, high-reward play style.
Build Your Family, Dominate the Leaderboard
The individual leaderboard is only half the game. Families — the guilds and teams players form — have their own rankings.
A family recruits members, coordinates attacks, shares strategy, and competes as a unit. Families that organize well can place players in the top ranks and take the family rankings simultaneously. For many long-term players, the family is the reason they keep coming back — the rivalries between established families run across hundreds of rounds.
The player base is global. The competition is real. There is no match-made bracket — everyone competes in the same round, against the same field.
Why Players Keep Coming Back
The Mafia Boss has been running since 2004. That's not an accident.
Every Round Starts Equal
The round-reset format means no permanent disadvantage for new players. Veterans know the game better, but they don't enter with a stockpile you can't touch. The player who wins round 1,481 might have just created an account.
Free-to-Play That's Actually Honest
Credits give advantages, but they don't determine outcomes. The leaderboard has been topped by players who spent nothing. Reading a round, timing attacks, coordinating with a family — those are the real variables.
Community With Real History
Forums, long-running family rivalries, player-written history that spans over two decades. When a game runs this long, the players who stick around build something a newer game with a cleaner interface can't replicate.
